Capital Campaign

Based upon extensive parish input, a new Site Master Plan has been developed to address our facility needs, both now and in the future.  The two main areas we will address first will be our new church and our new school.  This Capital Campaign will seek to raise $2,000,000+ for the building of a new, elevated church.  The total cost of the project is anticipated at $8,000,000. We are blessed that $6,000,000 has already been raised.  This money comes from $4,000,000 in wind insurance, $1,000,000 through the Archdiocese of New Orleans second collections in US churches, and $1,000,000 already donated by our parishioners and other out of parish families and churches.  In the fall of 2007, FEMA announced that the two elementary school buildings will be rebuilt on the same slab space using FEMA funds, without cost to our parish.  FEMA will not contribute to the building of our new church.  Plans for other buildings are still awaiting FEMA announcements.

With the climate we are in post-Katrina, this Campaign will be a challenge.  It will take all of us, generously sharing our gifts, to make this vision a reality.  We will invite very parish family to meaningfully consider what they can bring forth for the success of the Campaign – Prayer, Involvement and Financial Participation.  We will also be reaching out to the community of Slidell, the regional community and throughout the country.
