As we look at the history and tradition of the Catholic Church in the Slidell area, we feel it is fair to say that Our Lady of Lourdes parish has had a major impact on the lives of thousands of families and individuals.  Since our beginnings in 1890, we have had the opportunity to spiritually nourish, educate, and reach out to this entire community.
Every once in a while, a parish like ours gets the opportunity to expand that positive influence and impact not just one generation but many future generations as well. This chance does not come along very often for every parish, and when it does, it is indeed a strategic moment in the history of that institution.  This is exactly where Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is today.  We have reached our strategic moment, and we must move forward.  With the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, we have been left with a tremendous challenge: rebuild our parish.
May God continue to bless us as we grow as one community where Love Transform Deep Water. May we always trust in the promise that, “With God all things are possible!”
