  • A Message from Our Pastor-Very Reverend W.C. Paysse, V.F.

Dear Parishioners, School Families, PSR Families and Friends,

In the peace of Christ, the divine physician, I reach out to our families and our dear children to express my prayers and concern for each of you. Together, we are in solidarity with Christ our Savior, His holy Church and with one another. We, the living stones of the Church, continue to build a world filled with love, joy and peace in the midst of confusion, fear, sickness and death.  Let us remember all in our daily prayers!

At the same time, we must be vigilant and keep the social distancing we are asked to do by the civil authorities out of concern for our global family.  Be assured that I will keep all of us informed of any significant changes or information here at Our Lady of Lourdes Church or throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Presently, I wish to share an item or two.  First, please know that the rectory is NOT CLOSED.  The parish staff is working in a smarter way from home to serve all of you.  You can still call the rectory phone number, 985-643-4137, between 9am and 3pm, Monday through Thursday, if you wish to speak to a person.  Be sure to leave a message if no one answers. Someone will return the call.

As always, you can reach a priest 24/7 by calling the aforementioned phone number listed above and follow the instruction if you need a priest in case of sickness or death.

Please be aware that your spiritual lives are of most importance to the priests.  As I mentioned recently at the Sunday Masses, we desire to be present for you and your families – for all your spiritual and pastoral needs.  We are here for you and your families, as always!

The Sunday dispensation from Mass is extended for those who cannot attend Mass.

    SUNDAY MASSES:
    Saturday Vigil, 4pm
    Sunday, 7am, 8:30am, 10:30am, and 4:30pm

    WEEKDAY MASSES:
    Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 am

    LIVE STREAM MASSES:
    • Sunday at 8:30 am and 10:30 am
    • Wednesday 8:30 am

    *CONFESSIONS:
    • Saturday, 3-4pm
    • Wednesday, 5-6:15 pm
    • Or by appointment. Call the rectory at 985-643-4137 to schedule confession.

*(Confessions are now heard on the votive/candle side of the church. Please enter the  building from any of the doors and line up iINSIDE (IN THE A/C) closest to the restrooms on the votive/candle side of the Church.)

Since the Archbishop has also extended weekday Masses to count for your Sunday obligation, those of you who participate may place your offerings in the basket when you arrive at church or you may continue to mail your offering in, place it in the drop box on the front steps of the rectory or register for online giving…it is easy, quick and your ongoing offering is never tardy. If you would like assistance to set up online giving, simply contact the rectory.

If you or someone you know needs any type of assistance whether it be picking up groceries, medications, a meal provided, etc., please contact the rectory or email us.

On a practical note, please pray, get rest, eat healthy and stay at home.

Wishing you joy and health in Christ,

    Very Reverend W.C. Paysse, V.F.
    Pastor
